Thank you all for joining me here for discussions about Immortal by Traci Slatton. I cannot tell you how much I'm looking forward to participating with all of your.

My name is Jennifer and I am a wife to Danny, a mother to Emma and Allison, a Senior Business Analyst for the IT area of a dental insurance company, and an avid reader. Although historical fiction is a passion of mine, I like to read a variety of novels.

Although I live in Roanoke, VA, I grew up in Grand Rapids, MI. I love the beautiful mountains that surround my home about 30 minutes outside of Roanoke, but I miss the awesome Great Lakes. Believe it or not, I also miss the winters. :)

I am the author of The Literate Housewife Review (http://literatehousewife.wordpress.com/) and have met so many wonderful people from all over the world from there.

Jennifer, thank you for coordinating this.

I'm so excited to participate. Have you read the book already? I'll be starting it this week.

I am Shana, wife to Darren and mother to Ally, Juliet and Jake. I have a business degree but am currently a stay home mom.

Reading and blogging are two of the things that keep me sane in this season of my life. My book blog, Literarily, is located here at http://blog.literarily.com.

I'm echoing thanks - I'm very excited to be here!

I'm Meghan, and I'm not a wife or mother yet, but I am engaged to Keith and I'll be a graduate student of medieval studies in just a month. I'm aiming to become a professor of medieval history.

Obviously, I love to read, and blogging has allowed me to share that with many other readers. My blog is located at http://www.chikune.com/blog.

I've got about 150 pages left in Immortal; I don't like discussing books when I haven't finished them, so I think I'll finish today!

I'm Jen of Devourer of Books. Thanks for hosting this, Jennifer. Somehow I wasn't paying attention to the dates, so I didn't realize we were starting this week. I'll have to start the book today or tomorrow.

I'm Nicki of Fyrefly's Book Blog. I'm a graduate student in biology, and avid reader of things like fantasy and historical fiction that allow me escapism from my work (and, okay, some pop-science work-related books, too.)

I haven't started reading this book yet, although I just won a copy over at J. Kaye's Book Blog, which is very exciting. Hopefully it'll turn up in my mailbox soon, so I can get it read before the bulk of the discussion is over. :)

Thanks for signing up! I just started reading the book yesterday, so don't worry about that. :)

Hello everyone! I'm really looking forward to discussing Immortal with all of you!

I'm Ruth from Bookish Ruth (http://bookishruth.com). I'm a fairly new blogger but a lifetime reader. I love sharing my passion for books with other people. In addition to historical fiction, I enjoy young adult fiction, mysteries, fantasy, and literary fiction. I'm always looking to expand my reading and I love discovering new authors.

I'm currently a student in photography school, with a focus on nature photography. I had my life turned upside down by a diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome last year, but I'm slowly getting back to a more normal existence. While CFS has limited me in some ways, it has given me a lot of extra time for reading on those days when I'm too tired to do anything else! I'm a native of the Philadelphia suburbs, only child of a fantastic single mom, and doting "aunt" to my cousin's new baby girl, Elena.

I'm so excited to be a part of Literate Housewives book club - again!

I'm Elle of Blithely Babbling (www.blithelybabbling.blogspot.com), a blog I have updated only sporadically (at best) throughout the summer, but am hoping to spend more time on this fall. I am currently a stay-at-home mom to my little girl, who will be 2 this fall while my husband runs the rat race for us. Before leaving the workforce I was in finance, and then the finance side of publishing. A great place for a book lover who hates editing - all the perks of the book industry, less of the pain!

As a reader, I'll read pretty well anything and everything and I can't pass by a bookshop without emerging with something. The saddest (and most frustrating experience) is to be stuck somewhere without a book.

I was part of the original book club where, sadly, we slogged through some mediocre-to-terrible books. I'm really excited about Immortal, though, as it looks like a terrific book.

I can't wait to discuss this book with everyone!

So what's our format for talking about the book? Are we talking about it in sections and people join in as they're ready? Waiting until everyone is done and talking about the whole thing?

That's a good question. I know that many people have not started yet or are just getting started. Maybe we could discuss some more general things. What does everyone else think? I do have one topic I've been thinking about since I started reading the book. I'll post that and see where it goes.

You are a brave, brave woman! I'm about a quarter of the way in and I can honestly say that this is the best of the three we've ever read. Thanks for jumping back in with me!

I've had a hard time putting this down. It also seems to be a very quick read - 50 or 70 pages sort of slip by without me realizing it. When I finish posting here, I'm going back to read the last 20 pages or so.

I'm on page 150. It's excellent!

I'd love to discuss more general topics while we're finishing this.

Jen, I agree that it's a quick read.

Shana, we're in the same place. :) I posted one off-topic and I'm about to start another.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Bonnie from Redlady's Reading Room.
I am new to the blogging world and started my blog a few months ago.

I just read Jennifer's post about the book club at Literate Housewife and
decided to jump on the bandwagon and join! I have to get a copy of the
book this week and start reading! It looks like a great book.

My name is Bonnie and I'm married to a great guy and we have one son who is about to turn 10 years old. I have been a stay at home mom for the past 10 years but will be returning to my original career in the next few weeks. Fortunately, I can work very part time flexible hours during my son's school day. I work in the healthcare field as an Occupational Therapist. I live in Ohio outside of the Cleveland Area. I am an avid reader and have had a love of books since I won a reading contest in the first grade! A memory that I will never forget. I am in a F2F book club that I started in my neighborhood about 5 years ago. It's not going the way I originally intended and has become more of a social group. For me, I want to talk books and have some social time but not the other way around! I have decided to step away from the group in the next month and am considering checking out a few library book clubs to find my niche. This online book club comes at the perfect time for me!

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and discussing the book!

Jennifer-Thanks so much for hosting the book club!

Hi everyone, I'm Dar from Peeking Between the Pages (http://peekingbetweenthepages.blogspot.com). I've already met a few of you through blogging. Jennifer, thanks so much for organizing this, I think it'll be great.

Let's see, I'm a mother but it's just to my dog Buddy so not the same thing but I love him dearly. I have a degree in Marketing but due to illness I work only from home now. I love books, always have. My mom started me off from a baby-she used to read to me and it just went on from there. I can still vaguely remember reading and doing workbooks with my mom so I do credit her with my passion for books. And what a passion-my books take up more space now than I do.

I somehow got my wires crossed in when we were starting to read so I'm starting today. From what I'm reading from those that have started it sounds as though it will be a quick read. I look forward to getting to know everybody and reading and chatting about the book.

Hi everyone! I'm Amy from Passages to the Past (www.passagestothepast.blogspot.com) and I am also amyb from historicalfictiononline.com.

I'm so glad I found this Jennifer and look forward to joining the discussion! At the moment I am reading The Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran, so as soon as I am done with that I should be able to catch up with you guys!

Hi everyone! This is Marcia from The Printed Page (http://printedpage.wordpress.com). Some of you may also know me from Up For Grabs (http://upforgrabs.wordpress.com).

I'm married to Jim and a humble servant to the feline lords and ladies of the Larsen manor. My reading tastes vary far and wide though I usually don't wander into the world of true sci-fi or fantasy. This is a great 1st pick as I'm really into historical fiction and have been for the past year or so.

I'm a bit behind in starting 'Immortal', and no Jenn, I wasn't blindsided. I'm here now and looking forward to chatting with everyone. I managed to get the first 26 pages read last night after finishing 'Run' by Ann Patchett for another online book group. So far I'm finding it very entertaining.

Happy reading!
